getting started
what is dull?
dull is a browser for social media. it loads instagram, youtube, facebook, and x in a web view and strips out short-form content like reels and shorts. you get the parts you actually want, without the infinite scroll traps.
how does it work?
when you open a platform in dull, it loads the mobile website and injects filters that hide short-form feeds, autoplay videos, and other attention-grabbing elements. all filtering happens on your device — nothing goes through our servers.
do I need to create an account?
no. dull has no accounts, no sign-up, no profiles. you just open the app and use it. you log into your social media accounts through the browser like normal.
subscription
how does the free trial work?
dull comes with a 3-day free trial. you get full access to everything. if you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically.
how do I cancel my subscription?
go to Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → Dull → Cancel Subscription. you can also manage your subscription from within the app under Settings.
can I get a refund?
subscriptions are managed by Apple. to request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
how do I restore my purchase?
open dull, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." this will sync your subscription status with your Apple ID.
troubleshooting
a platform looks broken or isn't loading
social media platforms update their websites frequently, which can occasionally break filters. try closing and reopening the app. if the issue persists, email us — we'll push a filter update.
i can still see reels / shorts
platforms sometimes change their page structure, which can let some content slip through temporarily. let us know which platform and what you're seeing, and we'll fix it in the next update.
the app is slow or unresponsive
try force-quitting the app and reopening it. if that doesn't help, make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store.
